Windmills
Dad has blogged about our trip to the American Wind Power Center and Museum and has occasionally enlightened us about the capacity of windmill generation in various principalities and states throughout the US. I really do not have anything to add to what he has said (especially about capacity - I don't have time to look all of that stuff up!!) except to say "Amen!"
I did, however, add the pictures we took of the day to flickr. You can find those here, if you are so inclined.

Then I guess you are not interested that the US grew to 16,818MW of capacity last year with Texas accounting for 1/4 of total capacity at 4356MW! Or that Rhode Island produces only 1MW (but then, I guess the windmills are bigger than the state).
Cool pix
Wilbarger county is getting a wind farm starting in 6 months. They will cover over 5000 acres near the Red River. Each will pay the land owner $10,000 a year. The base for one to set on is 40 ft. square and 60 feet deep of concrete. OK concrete here is going to make a killing. The county is excited about the incoming tax revenue. 150 land owners are involved with only two being reluctant to sign on. Their reluctance does not hinder the progress. dw
